RPGENIE

Terms of Service

Last updated 28 July 2026

These are the rules for using RPGenie. They are meant to be fair and readable rather than exhaustive. RPGenie is run by one person, and these terms reflect that.

1.Agreeing to this

By creating an account or using RPGenie at rpgenie.ai, you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use the service. If you are using RPGenie on behalf of a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

2.What RPGenie is

RPGenie generates battle maps and other tabletop-RPG imagery using AI, and provides tools around them: a character sheet, a homebrew library, a dice roller. Features change; some are experimental. We may add, alter or retire parts of the service.

RPGenie is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast. The character-sheet tools use material from the System Reference Document 5.1 and 5.2, made available by Wizards of the Coast LLC under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Dungeons & Dragons and D&D are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast.

3.Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old.
  • Use a real email address you control: it is how we reach you about billing and how you recover access.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One account per person. Do not share logins to stretch a credit allowance.
  • Tell us promptly if you think someone else is in your account.

4.Credits, plans and what resets

RPGenie runs on credits.

  • One credit is one generation. Re-rolling a map or making an AI edit produces a new image, so it costs a credit too.
  • Draw mode costs no credits and is unlimited on every plan, including the free one. Draw layouts are yours to download and use.
  • An animated map costs 8 credits, from the same balance as everything else. Video costs considerably more to produce than a still image. Every account also gets one animated map free.
  • Subscription credits reset monthly, on the 1st, and unused ones roll over for up to two months. The carry is capped at twice your monthly allowance.
  • Credit packs never expire and stack on top of any plan. Your subscription allowance is spent first; packs are drawn on after it runs out.
  • Free-plan credits are one-time and do not reset.

There is one paid plan. It includes everything the app can do: the full map generator, the character sheet, the homebrew builders and the dice roller. The free plan includes the map generator and unlimited Draw mode; the character sheet, the homebrew builders and the dice roller are not available on it.

5.Payment, cancelling and refunds

Payments are handled by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply where you are.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page; you keep access and the credits already issued until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.

Because credits are delivered immediately and cost real money to fulfil, payments are generally non-refundable. That said: if something went wrong, if you were charged in error, or if the service failed you, email us and we will sort it out. We would rather fix a problem than win an argument. Nothing here affects refund rights you have by law.

We may change prices. Existing subscribers get notice before a change affects them, and can cancel instead.

6.What you make is yours

You keep the maps and images you generate. Download them, print them, use them at your table, keep them after you cancel. We do not take them away and we do not hold them hostage.

Commercial use: selling your maps, putting them in a product you sell, or using them in monetised content: is included with the paid membership, for as long as your membership is active. Maps you generated while a member stay licensed for commercial use after you cancel. On the free plan, use what you make for your own games and personal projects.

One thing we cannot promise, and no AI service honestly can: whether copyright exists in AI-generated images at all is unsettled law in the United States and elsewhere. We grant you every right we have. We cannot grant a right the law has not yet decided exists, and we cannot promise nobody else will ever generate something similar.

You also keep ownership of everything you write: character sheets, homebrew, notes. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, and to display it back to you. We will not use your content in marketing without asking you first.

7.What you may not do

  • Generate sexual content involving minors, or anything else illegal. This is absolute and will end your account immediately.
  • Generate content designed to harass, defame or impersonate a real person.
  • Work around content filters, credit limits, or any technical restriction.
  • Resell access to RPGenie, or use it as a backend for another product.
  • Scrape the site, hammer it with automated requests, or attempt to break into it.
  • Upload images you do not have the rights to.

Generations pass through the AI providers’ own safety filters. Content those filters block will not be produced, and we cannot override that on request.

8.Availability

We aim to keep RPGenie up, but we do not promise an uptime figure and there is no SLA. The service depends on third parties: if an AI provider has an outage, generation stops until they are back. We may take the service down for maintenance. If an extended outage costs you credits, tell us and we will make it right.

9.Ending things

You can stop using RPGenie whenever you want, and ask us to delete your account by email. We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 7, that is being used fraudulently, or where payment fails and stays unresolved. Where circumstances allow we will warn you first; for the items in section 7 that are illegal, we will not.

If we close the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice so you can download your maps, and we will not bill you again.

10.The legal necessities

No warranty. RPGenie is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a generated image will suit your purpose. AI output is unpredictable by nature: that is part of the fun, and part of the risk.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to RPGenie is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost data. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

Indemnity. If your use of RPGenie: particularly anything in section 7: causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable cost of dealing with it.

11.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Before anything formal: email us. Almost everything is a misunderstanding that a conversation fixes, and a one-person service has every incentive to sort it out rather than litigate.

12.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for material changes we will notify account holders by email. Continuing to use RPGenie after a change means you accept the new version. If you do not, cancel and stop using the service.

13.Odds and ends

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not mean we have given it up. These terms, plus the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us.
