How our AI maps are made

1.What generates the images

Every battle map is generated by an AI model, FLUX.1 [pro] v1.1 Ultra, hosted by fal.ai. That is the one map model. The rest of the imagery is made the same way, all on fal.ai:

• FLUX.1 Kontext runs AI Edit and Draw mode, where the floor plan you draw guides the image.
• FLUX.1 [schnell] generates the props, and BiRefNet cuts each one out of its background.
• AuraSR handles the upscale. It is a 2x pass, so we do not call it 4K.
• WAN turns a finished map into a short animated video.
• Character portraits, sheet backdrops and dice skins are generated by FLUX too.
• Claude writes the prompt text from the choices you make. It writes words, never pixels.

The maps, the props, the portraits, all of it is AI-generated. None of it is traced from or built on another artist's map library.

2.What we do not do

We did not train any of these models, and we do not train models on your maps, your prompts or your uploads. What you make stays yours, and we do not feed it back into anything.

Here is the part most AI tools leave out: we cannot tell you what FLUX was trained on, because we do not know, and neither does anyone else selling AI maps. Any tool that promises its output is clear of a particular artist's work is promising something it cannot know. We would rather say that plainly.

3.What you can do with what you make

On a paid membership you get full commercial rights: sell your maps, put them in something you sell, use them in monetized content, print them. Maps you made while a member stay licensed for commercial use after you cancel. On the free plan, use what you make for your own games and personal projects.

4.Where AI maps fit

AI maps are for your Tuesday night dungeon. If you are publishing a book, hire a cartographer. Both can be true, and we would rather tell you where that line is than sell past it.
