Dungeon and crypt battle maps
The dungeon is the form the whole hobby was built on, and it is still the map that gives a party the most decisions per minute. These are drawn as a floor plan cut into solid rock: chambers, connecting passages, doors, stairs, and the dark that presses in on all four sides of the frame.
Running one at the table
A dungeon map should answer questions before they are asked. Where does that corridor go, is that door the only way out, can we back into the last room. So these are drawn with clear separation between passage and chamber, and with the rock filling the frame so nobody wonders what is off the edge.
How big to make it
A dungeon level reads at 30 to 40 squares across. Individual chambers land between 6 and 15 squares, which is the range where a fight is tight without being a queue.
What you can make
Pick one and RPGenie writes the map from it. This is not a library of 15 finished pictures: they are starting points, and the map you get is generated for your table.
