Ruins and hideout battle maps
A ruin is an interior that has lost its roof and half its walls, and that combination is unusually good for combat. These are drawn with the original floor plan still readable underneath the collapse: broken wall lines, fallen masonry, floors open to the sky, and the parts that are still whole.
Running one at the table
The half-standing walls are what make these worth using. Cover that stops at waist height, sight lines that open unexpectedly, and rubble that costs movement all come free from the fiction. A ruin gives you an interior's structure with an exterior's freedom of movement.
How big to make it
Ruins sit at 25 to 40 squares across. Because the walls are broken, they play larger than an intact building of the same footprint.
What you can make
Pick one and RPGenie writes the map from it. This is not a library of 15 finished pictures: they are starting points, and the map you get is generated for your table.
