Monster lair battle maps
A lair is a room that something lives in, and it should be legible as that before anybody says a word. These are drawn with the evidence in place: hoard, bones, nesting material, webbing, kill remains and the wear patterns of something large that has been here a long time.
Running one at the table
Lairs are built around one creature's movement rather than a party's. That means space for something big, an entrance that suits how it hunts, and side alcoves that make it a den instead of a box. The clutter is cover for the players and terrain for the thing that owns the room.
How big to make it
A dragon or similar wants 30 to 40 squares. Smaller predators work at 20 to 25, where the party cannot spread out and lose the advantage of numbers.
What you can make
Pick one and RPGenie writes the map from it. This is not a library of 15 finished pictures: they are starting points, and the map you get is generated for your table.
