City street battle maps
A street fight is an ambush waiting to happen, and a street map has to earn that. These are drawn from above with the building rooftops in place, so the playable ground is the road, the square and the gaps between: alleys, stall rows, cart clutter and the doorways people duck into.
Running one at the table
The alleys are the whole point. A city map that is one wide road is a corridor with better scenery, so these are drawn with side turnings, blind corners and enough vertical clutter that a rogue has somewhere to go. Market stalls double as half cover and as something to overturn.
How big to make it
A street block reads well at 25 to 40 squares across. That gives you a road wide enough for a cart to matter and still leaves room for the buildings on both sides.
What you can make
Pick one and RPGenie writes the map from it. This is not a library of 14 finished pictures: they are starting points, and the map you get is generated for your table.
